ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM:

Our application department, and in particular the eWAS products, will be a key pillar in SITA’s contribution to a greener, more sustainable aviation through the enablement of flight and air traffic optimization.

Reporting to head of E&T application department, the Back-End system Owner is overall responsible for the following key activities:

• Architect and optimize the future back-end of the eWAS products.
• Collaborate with the different stakeholders to align and propose the best value to them.
• Support the development team with agility by having the backlog ready, prioritized and the stories well prepared.
• Ensure the quality of the product delivered to the team and, more important, to our customers.
• Confirm we’re always on track, both following the budget and the deliveries deadlines.
• Manage with the operation team to unsure a common understanding of the activities and the actions to be done in case of failure (it happens sometimes).

You will interact with the various functions within SITA FOR AIRCRAFT such as Engineering & Technology, Product, and other colleagues across the company, located in 20 countries (Canada, United-States, France, Switzerland, Germany, Singapore, United Arab Emirates, Spain...).

 WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Collaborate with the product owners to align on the need and create actionable items the team mas deliver.
• Discuss with the application experts to prepare cohesive stories to implement with sufficient technical detail.
• Ensure the optimization and performance of the back-end solution to improve the end product quality.
• Align with the architecture team to ensure we follow the standard of the company.
• Prioritize the features based on the requirements of the end product and manage the backlog efficiently.
• Highlight and mitigate the risks and contingency planning, minimize disruption to the overall achievement.
• Ensure a proper level of monitoring and define the operational support flow in collaboration with the operation team.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical or Meteorological technologies
• Minimum of 2 years in significant product owner position
• Strong background in back-end development, system architecture and infrastructure management
• Demonstrate the ability to share the strategic vision of such component which are behind an end-product.
• Experience in working with complex system, handling non-explicit dataset (data source and output)
• Worked in aeronautical or metrological industry.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of translating technical concepts into accessible language for different audiences (and the opposite).
• Good English skills, both written and oral
• Analytics, organized and strategic thinking.

 NICE-TO-HAVE:

• Masted degree in Aeronautical or Meteorological technologies
• Additional certification
